I had the same sentiment as Michael Freeby. But I lived in an apartment and all the neighbors complained about the odor when my cat sprayed. I blocked the door with some furniture which caused him to go into a frenzy of desperation. He tried to get out the window, fell off the narrow windowsill, broke his neck and died.

Neutering is a necessary evil I am sad to say. Humans are able to sublimate their sexual urges to some extent but animals can’t. They are completely dominated by them.
It would have been kinder for me to neuter my cat than to let him suffer horrible frustration. If I owned a farm in the country and was willing to risk losing him then I would have let him live his natural life.
